Hello families!
My name is Mrs. West, and I’m so excited to be your child’s second-grade teacher this year! I bring not only a love for teaching but also a heart full of life experiences that shape the way I connect with children and families.
I’m a proud Navy wife (retired) and an Air Force mom, and for the past 22 years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to live and travel across the world. My teaching journey began in Okinawa, Japan in 2008, and from the moment I stepped into the classroom, I knew helping children grow and discover their full potential was my calling. Watching students achieve more than they thought possible brings me the greatest joy.
Originally from the Bronx in New York, I now call wherever my family is “home.” I have four wonderful children—ages 24, 21, 14, and 6—who keep life fun and full of learning even when I’m not in the classroom. I love exploring national parks, traveling to new places, relaxing at the spa, and enjoying a cozy cup of tea (with a sweet treat, of course!). I’m also a big fan of lavender, Olive Garden, and creating warm memories with my loved ones.
This year, I look forward to building a strong classroom community where your child feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn. I truly believe that with the right encouragement and care, every child can thrive—and I’m honored to be a part of their journey.
Respectfully,
Mrs. West
